Bulk Fish Fertilizer for Commercial Farms & Greenhouses
Scale your soil health and lower your application rates with professional-grade organic fertility. Made fresh on the docks of Gloucester, MA, our cold-processed hydrolyzed fish fertilizers are available in high-volume formats—from 55-gallon drums to tanker truck deliveries—to meet the demands of large-scale agriculture.
Why Commercial Growers Choose Hydrolyzed Fish over Emulsions
We know that in commercial agriculture, efficiency is everything. We are not a standard fish emulsion. Our cold-process method preserves natural oils, proteins, and enzymes that are normally boiled away in standard emulsions. For your farm, this means three measurable advantages:
Lower Application Rates
Because we do not remove the natural oils and proteins, nutrients remain in the soil longer. Our growers consistently find that lower N-P-K rates of our hydrolysate can meet or exceed the crop yield results of higher-rate chemical programs.
Zero Equipment Clogging
Forget the thick sediment that ruins irrigation lines. Our rigorous multi-step screening process ensures our liquid fertilizers flow seamlessly through drip tape, boom sprayers, and fine-mist foliar systems.
Better Working Conditions
Because we process fresh-caught fish same-day at the dock, the putrid odors of decomposition are avoided. The mild scent dissipates quickly, improving conditions for your farm workers.
Shop Our Best-Selling Organic Fertilizers
Whether you manage a boutique organic market garden or thousands of acres, we have the logistics network to supply you efficiently. We offer our core liquid lines, including our Hydrolyzed Fish (2-4-1) and Fish & Seaweed Blend (2-3-1), in the following formats:
5-Gallon Pails
Perfect for market gardens and small greenhouse operations.
55-Gallon Drums
Ideal for mid-sized farms and regular fertigation programs.
Tanker Truck Deliveries
Direct-to-farm bulk delivery for enterprise-scale agriculture.
275-Gallon Totes

Farm Inputs for Better Growing Results
Support healthier soil, stronger plants, and more effective crop management with farm-focused inputs from Neptune’s Harvest. Explore Humates, Garlic, Seaweed & Kelp Meal, and Crab & Lobster Shell, with practical information to help you choose the right option for your growing needs.
Humic acids are naturally occurring substances derived from oxidized lignite, also known as Leonardite. Neptune’s Harvest uses specialized processing to activate the naturally insoluble humic acids and make them readily available for use by plants and soil.
Benefits
- Supports strong root development.
- Encourages beneficial soil microorganisms.
- Helps improve micronutrient availability.
- Supports plant tolerance to heat, frost and drought stress.
- Helps improve soil structure, aeration and water-holding capacity.
- Provides soluble silicon to support stronger plant cell walls.
Typical Soil Applications
LC-12 soil application rates vary by crop. Many field and row crops are listed at approximately 1 to 2 gallons per acre per treatment, with application timing based on crop stage and production system.
Neptune’s Harvest Garlic Spray is made from garlic oil and water and is designed for use as a natural insect repellent rather than a conventional insecticide.
Application Guidance
- Apply before insect pressure becomes established.
- Best applied in the late afternoon, evening or early morning.
- Avoid spraying during the hottest part of the day.
- Do not leave diluted product in the spray tank overnight.
- Can be mixed with Neptune’s Harvest Hydrolyzed Fish.
- Protect the concentrated product from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
Pollination
The Farm Book advises avoiding application immediately before or during pollination because the garlic spray can repel bees.
Neptune’s Harvest Soluble Seaweed Powder is derived from fresh Ascophyllum nodosum harvested from North Atlantic coastal waters along the New England shoreline.
Soluble Seaweed Powder
- 100% soluble in water.
- Brownish-black crystalline appearance.
- Typical pH of 10 to 10.7.
- Contains naturally occurring alginic acid, mannitol and laminarin.
Available Sizes
Kelp Meal
Kelp Meal is made from 100% Ascophyllum nodosum and can be incorporated into field crops, row crops, gardens, potting mixes, seedbeds, composts and fertilizer blends.
Neptune’s Harvest Crab & Lobster Shell is a 5-3-0 soil amendment containing naturally occurring nutrients and a high level of calcium. It is also naturally rich in chitin.
Chitin & Soil Biology
According to the Farm Book, chitin promotes the growth of chitin-eating bacteria. The material is intended to support soil biology and help create conditions that are less favorable to certain chitin-based organisms.
Suggested Application Rates
- Garden: 3 lb per 100 sq. ft.
- Field: 100 to 200 lb per acre.
- Row crops: 1 to 2 lb per 100 feet.
- Orchards: ½ lb per inch of tree diameter.
- Turf: 10 lb per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Potting mixes: 2% of total volume.
- Compost: 3 to 6 oz. per cubic foot.
Packaging
The Farm Book notes that Crab Flour is also available in 44 lb bags. Bulk Crab & Lobster Shell sizes are not specified in the document.

Application Rates
Farm, field, pasture, and hay application guidance for Fish Fertilizer.
Vegetable Crops
For vegetable crops and sweet corn: Apply 3 gallons per acre, 4 times a year.
- 1st Application: At planting. Broadcast or drip in the furrow.
- 2nd Application: Foliar spray when first primary leaves come out on vegetables, or on corn when plants are 8 to 10 inches tall.
- 3rd Application: Pre-blossom, or with corn, pre-tassel.
- 4th Application: Pre-harvest.
Don’t waste a trip: If you’re going to the field to spray anything, add some fish to your mix. The fish will enable your inputs to stay in the soil longer and can allow you to cut your application rates.
You can not overuse the fish as long as you mix it with enough water. Any time the plant is going through stress, it is wise to spray fish. Some people use fish every time they irrigate.
Remember: It is better to fertilize more often with less, than less often with more.
Field Crops
On field crops we recommend you apply 2 to 3 gallons per acre, 4 times a year. If equipment or timing is limited, apply 8 to 12 gallons when you are able.
- 1st Application: At planting.
- 2nd Application: When grains are 4 to 5 inches tall, corn is 8 to 10 inches tall, and beans have first true leaves.
- 3rd Application: Pre-boot, pre-tassel, or pre-blossom.
- 4th Application: Pre-harvest.
Pasture
For best results, use 2 to 3 gallons per acre, mixed with a minimum of 20 to 30 gallons of water per application.
For every gallon of Fish, you’ll need a minimum of 10 gallons of water.
You can spray every 21 days ideally, or when the grass gets grazed down low and you rotate the animals. However, every 4 to 6 weeks shows good results.
Hay
For best results, apply 2 to 3 gallons per acre, with a minimum of 20 to 30 gallons of water per application.
- 1st Application: When hay comes out of dormancy.
- 2nd Application: 2 to 3 weeks before cutting, or the latest time you can get on the field.
- 3rd Application: After cutting.
- Repeat for every cutting.
Please Note
To recover poor soil conditions, our Fish Fertilizer can be used more frequently or at a higher concentration in the beginning. This will ensure you see the best results right from the start.
